The 2026 Southern Caribbean Marriage Cruise

Eight nights. Eight retreat sessions. Six couples who showed up willing to do the work. Here's what happened.

We Sailed Away: And Came Back Closer

In February 2026, Caleb and Verlynda led a small group of couples aboard Celebrity Silhouette through the Southern Caribbean — Grand Cayman, Aruba, and Curaçao. It was an intimate, clinically-led retreat woven into the rhythm of a real cruise: mornings with purpose, afternoons with your spouse, evenings with new friends who were doing the same hard and hopeful work you were.

This cruise is now sold out and behind us. But for the couples who were there, it's anything but over.

The Retreat

Eight Sessions. Real Results

Over eight 90-minute retreat sessions, couples worked through a curriculum built around Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and the Gottman Method — not inspirational talks, but clinically validated tools for real connection.

  • Shortwave Radio Lessons: learning to actually hear each other. Deeply.
  • Your Own Love Boat: rediscovering what brought you together.
  • Sex Ed for Experienced Couples: honest, clinical, and surprisingly fun.
  • Your Safe Harbor: building the emotional security underneath everything else.
  • Who's the Captain, Anyways? power, partnership, and the dance between them.
  • Navigating Out of the Storm: conflict cycles and how to break them.
  • Sailing Off Into the Sunset: vision, goals, and the marriage you're still building.
  • Land Ahoy! Integration and what comes next.

Between sessions? That was yours. Pools, ports, excursions, long dinners, late nights on the balcony. The kind of unhurried time that reminds you why you chose each other.

In Their Own Words

Before the cruise, our relationship felt stagnant, distant, and weak... not there. Now it feels refreshed, reconnected, and moving in a positive direction. The small group made everything personal, including having real one-on-one time with Caleb and Verlynda. The biggest aha moment for me was recognizing that things I was doing were actually hurting the relationship. Being pushed to set goals together as a couple was huge for us! We hadn't really done that since getting married almost 15 years ago. We came in not knowing what to expect, and left with more than we could have imagined.

Our relationship came in feeling mildly stagnated. We're leaving feeling invigorated and rededicated. Having clinically trained therapists lead the retreat (not just speakers) exceptionally enhanced the depth of the work. For me, the biggest shift was learning to really observe my wife: her perceptions, her feelings. For Meley, it was finally having a space to express feelings she had kept inside for years. This was the best session either of us has ever experienced! We were never hesitant, and we'd do it again.
